The Random House Teachers and Librarians website is a resource for educators that shares books, discussion guides, activity sheets, and more. It is managed by the school and library and digital marketing teams of Random House Children’s Books, a division of Penguin Random House.

what i did

I worked with the School and Library Marketing team to redesign and redevelop their website. In order for the team to effectively use their site, they needed a fresh, mobile responsive design, a seamless book purchase experience, and a usable CMS. Starting from the existing logo, I designed a website that is sophisticated enough for an adult audience but playful enough for the age group the books and content are created for. To make the blog significantly easier to update, I developed interchangeable modules that automatically pulled book data from the Penguin Random House API. I also used Advanced Custom Fields to provide a simplified updating experience for each component of featured sections, such as the homepage rotator and the book of the month. Additionally, I worked with our associate email marketing manager to redesign the newsletter, ensuring the design matched that of the website and that the newsletter had clear sections and CTAs.
